Description

Public health nutrition is a complex, multifaceted set
of programs dedicated to improving the health of the
population through improved nutrition. In more detail,
public health nutrition primarily exists to:
• Improve the health of the whole population and
teach high-risk subgroups within the population
improved nutrition;
• Emphasize health promotion and disease prevention
through improved nutrition; and
• Provide integrated community efforts for improved
nutrition with leadership demonstrated by government
offices.1
