Eating behaviour
Description
In this book, we explore what it is that controls, manipulates and elicits
eating behaviour. We will cover the way that the brain and body control eating,
the environmental factors that infiltrate the consciousness to make us think
it is time to eat, and childhood, to unravel how eating behaviour develops
within the individual – which provides the cornerstones to each individual’s
eating behaviour. I do not attempt to sensationalize the subject by looking
only at the rare or pathological; rather, the reader will be offered an explanation
from the perspective of the average person. The book is punctuated with sideshoots and offers some insights into eating behaviour that has gone wrong,
but on the whole it will provide an explanation of the mundane. So mundane
in fact that everyone, ‘normal’ or otherwise, experiences these concepts and
phenomena many times every single day. However, even the mundane can be
fascinating and complex.
