Description
The Nutrition Society was established in 1941 as a
result of a group of leading physiologists, biochemists
and medical scientists recognising that the emerging
discipline of nutrition would benefit from its own
Learned Society. The Nutrition Society’s mission
was, and firmly remains, “to advance the scientific
study of nutrition and its application to the
maintenance of human and animal health”. It is the
largest Learned Society for Nutrition in Europe and
has over 2,700 members worldwide. For more details
about the Society and how to become a member, visit
the website at www.nutritionsociety.org.
